The Quarterz Chester is kinda like a hotel, yet kinda like an apartment. What they like to call themselves is an “apart-hotel” that features:

  • Rooms designed to fit 4 or 3 people, as well as double and single rooms.
  • A full kitchen specifically for guests.
  • Complementary WiFi (because who can afford to be disconnected?)
  • Optional breakfast.
  • Comfortable beds.
  • And — the best part — it’s pretty affordable, likely due to it being a not-so-great option compared to other Chester hotels.
  • Note: Do keep in mind, since this is an “apart-hotel”, the apartments are split into separate rooms but the entire apartment is shared by guests.

Hallmark Inn Chester (Westminster) – £38

Kilmorey Lodge – £78

If you’re looking for a more unique stay in Chester, the Kilmorey Lodge has individually decorated rooms with a charming, yet comfortable design!

And boy, oh boy, after looking at the photos and what people have to say, it’s no wonder this place is booked out all the time.

Featuring exceptionally clean bathrooms with massive soaking tubs, individually decorated and designed rooms, huge comfy beds, and a mouthwatering English breakfast, this Chester B&B hotel is worth every single penny (which isn’t a lot at £80 per night for the cheapest room!).

Rooms filled with fun and curious decorations and accessories, as well as super comfy beds and a staff that’ll go out of their way to make you happy, the Oddfellows Chester is one of the best boutique hotels in Chester City centre.

After seeing the rooms and bathrooms at this Chester hotel, I can’t imagine staying at a more luxurious place right in the heart of this Roman city!

Here are a few things that make the Oddfellows Chester hotel fabulous:

  • Massive, comfy beds.
  • Unique rooms each featuring individual interior designs and quirky decorations and designs.
  • A crazy good location; this is a serious central hotel in Chester’s city centre. It’s even within the historic Roman walls!
  • There’s a nice bar right on site if you want to grab a few pints.
  • Great breakfast ready for you in the morning (optional).
  • According to reviewers, there’s a private car park if you decide to either drive to Chester or rent a car!

This boutique Chester hotel blasts all of them out of the water… literally! As it’s right on the River Dee, which flows right through the centre of Chester.

Even better, it’s right on the edge of the Grosvenor park, which is a fabulous place to take a stroll after all your site-seeing.

Not to mention the rooms are insanely beautiful and will take your breath away.

Dating back to 1155, The Pied Bull is not only filled with captivating history and reputed to be the oldest licensed pub in Chester, it’s also rumored to be filled with lingering ghosts and ghouls!

In fact, according to guests, the ghost of a man is supposedly haunting the cellar after ‘falling down the the flight of stairs belonging to The Pied Bull with a knife in his hand.’

And don’t forget about the two chambermaids that haunt two of the rooms upstairs! They loved working here so much they didn’t want to leave…

As one of the oldest pubs in Chester, the Ye Olde Kings Head dates back to the 11th century and has been trading as an inn since the 14th century! Pretty old, eh?

At that age, it’s no wonder there are a few leftover souls roaming around! In fact, Most Haunted visited this place in 2014 — but you’ll have to watch the episode yourself to discover what they found!

Unfortunately, there’s really only one “hostel” in Chester’s city centre. On the bright side, it’s pretty good and smack dab near Chester’s bus station and train station!
