With the growing climate crisis, many traveler’s are choosing to explore more consciously. From reducing their plastic consumption and avoiding unethical animal experiences to supporting sustainable tour companies, reducing their CO emissions, and buying from eco-friendly luggage brands, there’s so many different ways to protect and prioritize our beautiful planet.
With regards to sustainable luggage, there are so many brands on the market nowadays that are creating stylish, high-quality products which align with our goal of traveling more consciously. I’m here to help you find the perfect eco-friendly suitcase that fits your needs, style, and budget.

Though I’ve not used every single brand mentioned below, as that type of consumption would be the least sustainable thing I could do, I’ve done extensive research on the best environmentally-friendly luggage while finding the right piece for myself.
If there’s one thing I do right, it’s deeply looking into brands and their ethos, missions, and products!
I can guarantee that the eco-friendly luggage brands mentioned below prioritize the planet, whether that be through creating long-lasting products, being carbon neutral certified, using recycled materials, embracing a circular economy principles, or foregoing the use of animal-derived materials.
Before we jump into my list of sustainable luggage, I do want to mention that the most sustainable thing you can do is buy nothing at all. I know, I know—how boring! But hear me out.
Consumption is at an all time high, which means most people—particularly those in Westernized societies—are constantly throwing out items that are perfectly usable.
Instead of continuing to clog our landfills, why not use what you already have on hand until it falls apart? And once it does, have you thought about buying secondhand?
Not buying anything at all or purchasing secondhand items is by far the most sustainable thing you can do. Just something to think about if you’re really looking to be as sustainable as possible.
With that said, if you actually do need to purchase new luggage and want to invest in a piece that’ll last you a lifetime, here are my eco-friendly luggage recommendations from high-quality, dependable brands.

The Best Eco-Friendly Luggage Brands
It’s important to note that none of the brands mentioned below would be considered “budget” brands. This is because it takes time, materials, and money to create high-quality, long-lasting, sustainable luggage.
As such, these pieces are priced accordingly and would definitely be considered an investment. One that should last for years to come.
Unlike other suitcases, which use low-quality materials and wouldn’t last two years, many of these sustainable luggage brands offer a limited lifetime warranty. This means you can trust that their products will support you throughout all your upcoming journeys.
