Not to be confused with Hawaii’s North Shore, Minnesota’s North Shore is located in the midwest and perched along the incredible Lake Superior.

Instead of dense jungles, golden sand beaches, poke bowls, lush mountains, endless resorts, and Hawai’ian culture, Minnesota’s North Shore boasts:

✓ The largest freshwater lake in the world (aka Lake Superior)
✓ Heart-dropping cliffs
✓ Countless cascading waterfalls
✓ Picturesque views
✓ Gorgeous rock formations
✓ Historical attractions
✓ Native American cultural sites
✓ Relaxing spa getaways
✓ Exciting hikes
✓ Vibrant wildlife
✓ And so much more

Even better, all of this can be found in a region that’s virtually unknown to those outside of Minnesota!

Native Americans and Minnesotans have known the beauty and awe of this place for hundreds of years, dating back to before America was America and the Lake Superior Chippewa and Ojibwe bands settled here.

It’s truly an exceptional USA destination and can offer a ton of things to do, whether you’re a family with kids, couple, solo traveler, or friend group. Get inspired to plan your trip to the North Shore in Minnesota by browsing my favorite 23 photos of this beautiful destination.
