When Dan and I told others we were backpacking around Eastern Europe as vegans, we got the most disheartening looks. Many said we wouldn’t be able to find food or vegan eats, as a lot of the local dishes are centered around meat.

Much to our surprise (and our stomach’s enjoyment), we found a plethora of vegan eats in Warsaw, Poland. All throughout the city, there are dedicated vegan cafes, vegetarian and vegan eateries, and vegan-friendly restaurants.

In fact, according to HappyCow, there’s over 40 dedicated vegan restaurants in the Warsaw area! Holy moly — vegan heaven!

While I wasn’t a huge fan of the city itself, I was a big fan of the vegan food we ate!

You’ll find tons of options like traditional Polish food, burgers, wraps, falafel, salads, soups, and vegan desserts! No doubt, you will not go hungry when eating vegan in Warsaw.

So, if you’re heading to the capital city of Poland and need some help finding vegan food, I’ve got just the list for you!

1. Vega

You’ll find the vegan restaurant Vega all over Poland. It’s a simple eatery full of vegan deliciousness. Serving up a variety of dishes, many with an Indian influence. You’ll find options like samosas, curry, potatoes, salads, soups, cakes, and desserts.

Even better? It’s super cheap! So if you’re on a budget, this is a great place to get some vegan eats in Warsaw.

2. Vege Kiosk

A tiny place in the middle of bustling Warsaw, the Vege Kiosk is a small booth serving up tasty vegan food. You’ll find items like pasta, burgers, pierogies, salads, soups, and desserts like ice cream, pies, and cakes.

It’s a cute little place to just stop by and grab something! Although, you’re kinda forced grab something quick, as it’s only a booth and there’s nowhere to sit. Lol.

3. Vegan Na Moliera

If you want to really chow down on some delicious, Middle-Eastern vegan food in Warsaw, this is the place to go!

For an affordable price, you can get an enormous plate full of falafel, olives, pickled beets, pickles, salad, beans, bread, and hummus. It’s incredible! Like for real, if you want to be stuffed to the brim with delicious Lebanese food, Vegan Na Moliera is the shizzzzz.

4. Vege Bistro – Vegan Polish Food

Looking for the best vegan pierogis in Warsaw? You can find them at Vege Bistro!

Serving up traditional Polish dishes like pierogis, racuchy, soups, snacks, and salads. You’ll also find some Eastern Europe dishes like schnitzel, lentil dumplings, and savory pancakes.

And if you’re the type of person who likes to end meals on a sweet note (like me!), try one of the many vegan desserts, like cheesecake! With “traditional” restaurants like this, it’s easy to be a vegan visiting Warsaw.

5. Mango Street Food

At the Mango Street Food restaurant, a small eatery with vegan branches all around Warsaw, I had one of the best vegan kebabs EVER! Filled with tasty seitan, fresh veggies, and creamy vegan sauce, it was incredible.

Additionally, other vegan eats you’ll find here include burgers, salads, soups, packed vegan plates, and pitas!

If you’re looking to eat vegan in Warsaw and your travel buddies are not, there’s something for everyone to eat at the Mango Street Food restaurant!

6. Krowarzywa

Interested in eating one of the best vegan burgers in Warsaw? You’ll find it here at Krowarzywa! Whether you want a burger filled with tofu, seitan, chickpeas, or just veggies, there are so many options to mix and match here to build your perfect burger.

Personally, I tried the vegan chickpea burger and it was da bomb! The spicy sauce was the perfect topping to go with it and the side of fries were delicious as well. One of my favorite places to eat vegan in Warsaw, as well as all of Poland!

7. Vege Miasto

Another vegan restaurant in Warsaw serving up some delicious vegan pierogies, Vege Miasto is a great place to grab a bite to eat. This cute little cafe is also serving up pasta, pizza, stuffed potatoes, burgers, wraps, and pancakes.

Additionally, if you want to just grab something sweet, you’ll find an array of cakes, pies, and ice cream!

8. Vegan Ramen Shop

Oh my… this place is seriously amazing! I’ve always been a huge ramen fan (Dan and I survived on it while road tripping around the USA) and this place is serving up some sweeeeeet vegan ramen dishes.

While they only have a handful of ramen flavors, they’re all freakin’ phenomenal. Full of flavor, savory noodles, beautiful broth, and delectable fillings! I’d eat here again and again and again. A brilliant place to grab some delicious vegan eats in Warsaw!

9. Youmiko Vegan Sushi

Searching for some vegan sushi in Warsaw? You’ll find it here!

With raving reviews, good service, beautifully arranged food, reasonable prices, and — of course — delicious vegan sushi, you’ll love this place. Bonus: the servers also tend to speak both English and Polish!

Tip: if you plan on eating there for dinner, try to get there early as this place fills up quick! And if you want to end on a sweet note, try the peanut butter ice cream.

Have you been horribly disappointed with vegan Mexican food in the past? Not today! Wait… what? Vegan Mexican food in Warsaw, Poland? Heck ya!

Whether you want a burrito, tacos, nachos, or guac and chips, you’ll get it here. And it’s all fantastic! The last, but not least, of the 10 vegan restaurants you should definitely not miss when eating vegan in Warsaw!

1. Nancy Lee

This vegetarian and vegan restaurant in Warsaw is serving up a number of different vegan and vegetarian entrees! Although, I have to admit, I only went here for dessert! Although, the cake I got was delicious and I’m sure their other dishes are just as good.

BONUS FOOD TIP!

Make sure to try the raspberry beer!

Yes, it sounds strange and it is strange but sometimes locals will put raspberry syrup in their beer. It gives a little something extra and some sweetness! (I actually didn’t like this at all but I want you to try it for yourself! It’s a complete Polish thing so I want you to form your own opinion about it.).
